517019a553 .gitignore: Ignore Python venv files 
Since presumably quite a few people will use stuart to build EDK 2,
and since the recommended approach in that case is to use a python
venv, it is much more convenient if these files are ignored by default
in EDK 2, rather than requiring a manual update to .git/info/exclude
each time the repo is cloned, as effectively suggested in the current
How to Build With Stuart instructions on the tianocore wiki.

48760409cc .gitignore: Ignore python compiled files, extdeps, and vscode

Update .gitignore to ignore .pyc files and __pycache__
directories.  Python based plugins can be added to any
package or platform, so these files and directories may
be present outside of BaseTools.

Ignore _extdep directories that are generated by the
pytool external dependency feature.

Ignore .vscode directories generated by the VS Code
editor.

112f4ada2e edk2: Add .DS_Store to .gitignore for macOS

macOS may generate .DS_Store files in directories.
The .gitignore file is updated to ignore these
.DS_Store files.

71bcf79963 EDK II: Add .gitignore 
While edk2 is still maintained in SVN, Many edk2 developers use git
for their main workflow, using the official mirrors.

Add a .gitignore to the EDK II root, BaseTools and Conf directories to
prevents files generated as part of the build from cluttering up "git
status" output.
